My colleague ordered this cake for her daughter few weeks back before I moved.
I used Alex Goh's recipe and as always it always crack in my oven.
I didn't whip the cream, and instead used sour cream, still it cracked.
Hated it.
So, I hid the cracks with some make up
And here's the cake
Pn Tan, Hope your girl and your family loved the cake
Yummy cheesecake!
ReplyDeletewhat a shame! You had to cover up all the pretty swirls in your cake. It looks very yummy still. I would have liked it very much even without the makeup haha. Makeup makes everything look prety :)
ReplyDeleteWOW! SO SMART & CREATIVE. I LIKE THE SECOND PHOTO, THE CAKE AFTER MAKE UP. HI... HI..
ReplyDeleteVery pretty cake.
ReplyDeleteWan, I wanna be your colleague too....LOL!
ReplyDeleteClever & beautiful deco. I experienced that my cake crack if baked in my big oven but ok if I use the smaller one. Guess that could be the same why yours always crack.
ReplyDeleteI too don't mind being your colleague:D You hide the cracks beautifully!
ReplyDeleteI like the original look but sad that it cracks! The subsequent decoration is good too.
ReplyDeletei also prefer the first one. You mean you always have cracked cheesecakes or only alex goh's cheese recipes?
ReplyDeletevery beautiful cake! i love the deco!
ReplyDeleteDG,
ReplyDeleteThanks
Esther,
My colleague won't mind the crack too if it was as a regular dessert, but it's for her daughter's birthday, so, better cover it up
Joceline,
Hahaha, Will MAC want to employ me?
Yummy Bakes,
LOL, thanks
Pete,
Bayar punya la, not free, kekeke.
HomeKreation,
Yeah, I think it's my oven's problem. Haha *Blaming is fun"
Jeannie,
Cracked my head when the cake cracked.
I actually told her to get another cake elsewehre, hahaha.
Zoe,
Yeah, cheesecakes are always better unadorned
lena,
This recipe from Alex only. I've tried few more recipes also, and they were ok. Still got minor crack, but not as GRAND as this canyon.
J3ss,
thanks for being so kind
V really love the cake. I"ll order for my son" s coming birthday ........... Love the creamy taste & just nice sweetness. Thanks a lot.
ReplyDeletePn Tan,
ReplyDeleteWalaueh, a respond from you. Thanks!!!
Now I know you liked it. Thanks!
Looking forward to having more orders from you. LOL.
Maybe you try to cover with aluminum foil first and only remove it at last few minutes....
ReplyDeleteYummy! I love the way you decorated your cake, looks very professional :)
ReplyDeleteThat's ingenious, really. Nothing like a little "make up" to repair a minor imperfection - and the result is beautiful. :)
ReplyDeletei like ur decorated...special ︿ ︿
ReplyDeleteSonia,
ReplyDeletethanks for the tips
Min,
I seem to use this technique quite often nowadays, easy!
Life or Beginners,
Thanks. I hope I don't need to make up my cheesecakes next time.
susanyee,
thankyou
wow, very nice :) is there any recipe for this?? can share
ReplyDeletemabel
Mabel,
ReplyDeleteSorry but I don't want to share a recipe that cracks each time I make it. You can find the recipe in Alex Goh's Creative Baking with Cakes.
